I think some Mod put me on some kind of watch list to spite me. I reported a post that had vulgar language in it and this mod IMED saying it was A-Ok for posters to use vulgar language and I got on his case about it, the entire thread was removed (although just editing the subject line would have been sufficient) the next day (probably by a real mod) but I'm assuming he put me on this watch list where my posts have to be read by the human eye before showing up on the boards. That last post didn't show up for over two hours and I had made 3 other posts that did show up before it so I thought it wasn't going to show up at all. I logged out and posted it anonymous and it showed up instantly.

You guys are killing me! ATT at the moment is YES still a decent company and their prices are still competitive, no doubting that. But, have you noticed that at this time last year i had a 3000/128 connection for 35.95 a month (yes i know @home is different but i still got billed by ATT). At this time last year i received a 10 dollar discount for my own modem now its a 3 dollar discount? Then they come out with this ultrajoke plan for 83.99 a month basically giving you back what you had a year ago for over double the cost. This my boys is what I call a trend. This is what Ive seen of ATT..........UNJUSTIFIED INFLATION. Lord knows what my 1.5/256 service is going to cost me next September. You guys arent listening to Count.... hes not saying they are the worst or they absolutely suck, hes just letting you know that your in for a ride.

Many things that Hog is saying is slander and other things are based on partial fact or no fact. He's not an investigative reporter (though he thinks he is), people really need to leave that up for the experts. If AT&T is gouging customers then a real investigative reporter for a reputable newspaper or news show will do a real investigation and prove it. And 3 Mbit speeds for $35/month was ridiculously low, it was nice while it lasted but we all knew it wouldn't and it was one of the causes for @Homes calapse. Now, the prices are much more competitive with DSL while still being a bargain compared to the competition. Even the Ultrajoke plan is leaps and bounds cheaper then competition. They are still great prices just not as great as before. And if one really needs 3Mbits then one shouldn't have a problem with paying $80/month for it.

It doesn't take an investigative reporter to actually bothering reading a financial report. It's not rocket science to find out how ATTB spends their money. Maybe if you did some "investigation" instead of shilling...you would recognize the truth about ATTB's anti-consumer business practices.

We're all still waiting for your excuse making to explain ATTB taking on tons of new customers without spending the extra money to support them...or while cutting services they've increased per customer revenue over 10%. Not slander...proved by their financial report.

You are the one operating purely on conjecture. In your overzealous shilling you just choose to ignore the facts.

And again...your ignorance continues. The 3Mb service wasn't the source of the @Home collapse...it was the purchase of the Excite portal that killed @Home. AT&T is anti-consumer...they were 20 years ago when they were broken up and they continue to be today. Offer customers little in the way of satisfaction while maneuvering for ever increasing market share to spread the misery.

What about OOL at 10MB/1MB for 39.95? Are they in the business of charity? I mean you said @home collapsed cause they charged 35.95 a month. Its only 4 dollars cheaper than OOL but they gave 7MB less download than OOL and 872Kb less upload than OOL. Is OOL going to collapse too or they actually giving their customers something to cheer about? I mean there are so many other cable companies (RR, Cox, Aldephia etc) that offer either a 2MB or 3MB plan for around 50 still not 83.99.

Actually Cox is $35. ATTBi is out of line compared to their national cable peers.

Remember att also had a hand in driving @home into the mud with their control of stock and board members. They were trying their best to devalue the company so they could turn around and buy it up for pennies on the dollar.

"Is OOL going to collapse too or they actually giving their customers something to cheer about?"

Yes, there is already much talk about them losing money. Even if they don't there is still no comparison with them who just handle a small region of the country while ATTB handles large patches all over the country and is the biggest cable provider in the country. Apples and Oranges.

"I mean there are so many other cable companies (RR, Cox, Aldephia etc) that offer either a 2MB or 3MB plan for around 50 still not 83.99."

Those companies offer 2MB and 3MB CAPS not necessarily the speeds. Most users with Cox get under 2Mbps, not very reliable speeds, it depends how much traffic is going through the users node. While with ATTB virtually everyone sees the 1.4 Mbps and if they want 3 MBps they can get it, Cox users don't have that option. If they want 3 Mbps they'd have to be lucky enough to be on a node that doesn't have very many users on it.

Every clear thinking person knows that most of that is fact. This can be argued "Most users with Cox get under 2Mbps". But the rest is unarguable facts and any clear thinking person knows it.

And you saying its total fabrication just helps my case that you are nothing but a troll.

Sorry...no one is buying your endless shilling for ATTBi. Facts are the average user with Cox gets faster speeds than the average user with ATTBi.

Average peak speeds with Cox 1971kbps
Average off peak speeds with Cox 2030kbps
Rank 18th 1682 cox.net 1971 239 2030

Average peak speeds with ATTBi 1332kbps
Average off peak speeds with ATTBi 1377kbps
Rank 37th 2823 attbi.com 1332 232 1377

Source DSLR Speed tests for week of 9/22

Seems that for 15% cheaper than ATTBi the average Cox users gets 50% faster speeds.

Next time you shill for ATTBi how about posting some facts to support your claims. Facts are that ALL of ATTBi peers are faster than (#37) ATTBi including Time Warner (#28), Adelphia (#21), and Cox HSI (#18). Who was worse than ATTBi? COMCAST. Oh boy...birds of a feather.

BTW Shill...not all ATTBi users qualify for Ultralink.

"Sorry...no one is buying your endless shilling for ATTBi. Facts are the average user with Cox gets faster speeds than the average user with ATTBi."

Get your facts straight, I never said otherwise.

"Average peak speeds with Cox 1971kbps
Average off peak speeds with Cox 2030kbps
Rank 18th 1682 cox.net 1971 239 2030

Average peak speeds with ATTBi 1332kbps

Thank you for helping me prove my point. Although Cox offers CAPS at 3 Mbps the average is under 2 Mbps. 600 Kbps more NOT 2x more then ATTBI.
And BTW Cox is only cheaper then ATTBI in some markets while others it's actually more expensive.

"Next time you shill for ATTBi how about posting some facts to support your claims."

You have yet to disprove one fact. You've introduce many facts but none that disprove any facts I've introduced.

"Facts are that ALL of ATTBi peers are faster than (#37) ATTBi including Time Warner (#28), Adelphia (#21), and Cox HSI (#18). Who was worse than ATTBi? COMCAST. Oh boy...birds of a feather."

You're absolutely right. ATTBI and Comcast have the lowest caps in the business. I've never stated otherwise. But ATTBI also offers the most reliable speeds. Users average 97% of the cap while with Cox it's 66% and with Time Warner although having a CAP 600 Kbps higher they only average 201 Kbps more then ATTBI and they don't have any option at all to get 3 Mbps.

And Adelphia although they offer 3.4 Mbps CAPS they only average Just under 500 Kbps more then ATTBI with tons of users testing below 500 KBps! And again if you want 3 MBps speeds with them you have to be lucky.

"BTW Shill...not all ATTBi users qualify for Ultralink."

You're right troll. I'd take wild guess and say it's only available to 50%-75% of their users but I doubt it will be very long before it's available to all their markets.

Boy does your math suck. Are you telling me that 650kbps isn't 50% of 1300? I would think that would have been on the ATTBi shill exam before you were hired.

And only a shill would try to justify ATTBi charging twice the price for what their peers offer or just over 10% more for 1/2 the speed.

Realistic speeds? 50% faster is pretty damn realistic...especially since ATTBi charges more for less.

ATTBi is overpriced...and not by a little.

Wow i wish i still had my speed tests from when i had that ultrajoke plan then youd be changing that 97% statement. As far as the 1.5/256 plan i do get a 1440/230 results quite frequently. So next time you need to base your 97% off both plans that ATTBI offers cause your obviously doing it to all the other providers your not shilling for.
