Re: DLS use

They have a policy against running servers and Kazaa/Bearshare and all the other P2P file sharing programs, and I'm sure you understand why, with only 2 T1's to the w-pop and say more then 50 users per w-pop, you can do the math and figure out that 3Mbs/50 does not = 256k each, which is the minimum you should get. Typically its not a problem having 400 people share that much bandwidth (we do it at my work in a corporate environment) do to the fact that not everyone will be using it at the same time and the very nature of the web (connect-get page-disconnect). But if everyone ran a server and each let 10 people grab MP3s from them... If you were the one person NOT doing this and your speeds dropped to below dial-up you'd be pissed. I use Kazaa, but like the other guy, I don't share and I don't "super-node". In the end, if you don't degrade other peoples connections to the point where they call up and complain, in other words don't draw attention to yourself, you should be fine.

DLSnet See Profile

then i will be switching to ATT or earthlink as soon as it will be avaible.

had ATT for long time, before the move, and the speed was constant 1.5mb, never slowed down, and the cost was $50.

can't wait, but this will do for now
