How long does it take DLS.net to contact you?

On the website you sign for a signal test to make sure your home is eligible for service. But how long does it take for them to do it? Also, how do you even know they got your information? They don't send an email, when you call they say there is no way to check when you will be tested.

Anyone know how to verify they even received your request?

I've been up and running with DLS for about 3 weeks now, and the service has been up with consistently high speeds every time I've used it. Ping times are excellent as well. It took them a few weeks to come out to do the pretest. They told me that they are quite busy now processing these types of requests. I would continue to follow up with them to ensure they will process your request. I used to have IDSL...the DLS experience has been far better than what it took for me to get IDSL. (3 attempts with 3 different ISPs)

Thanks for the response, I finally had my pretest done. It took about 3 weeks. I am good to go and am getting the service next week. I have another question.
When you say consistently high speeds, what are they? Also, what ping times do you average? I am pretty excited at this point. Also, I read that sometimes cordless phones interfere with the signal, have you noticed this?

Speed rates have varied from 350K to 690K

I'm not so sure about ping times, but they're less than 100ms. I believe they're 60-80ms for the game server I use.

I have not noticed the cordless phone interference. I'll have to check that out.

I just had my wireless connection installed a few days ago. It did take them about 3 weeks to do the pretest, and they were booked for about 2 weeks doing installs at that point. Now I get connection speeds between 260 and 700 kbps, with 350 being the norm. Even if it isn't the maximum of 1 mbps, it's still better than my previous dialup speed of 24 kbps, and that was on a good day. The ping times are phenomenal. I usually get 60-80 ms pings on most game servers.

Over all, I'd give DLS' service a 9 out of 10. The installers definitely knew what they were doing, and did everything they could to make it go as smoothly as possible and answer any questions I had. The only complaints I have are the slow response time for their pretest and installation, which is understandable, but they could have sent e-mail updates, and the first bill I received was not itemized and caught me off guard when it included both the installation and first month of service. All in all, the wait is most certainly worth it.
