I don't think this is entirely true. It seems to me Apple has "squeezed" suppliers to be responsible to their employees. More than any company, Walmart has to take the cake for the drive to the bottom.
So Apple is hugely profitable but pay their employees a standard wage. /shrug. It's a free market. They're paying people exactly what they're willing to work for.
