Re: Slashdot Asks why isn't anyone using KDE? I'm happy with Gnome 3.4 currently.
I tried KDE Plasma Netbook on my Eee PC. It was somewhat cool, but much slower than Gnome 3.4. I have been going back and forth with the idea of KDE Plasma Desktop on my desktop PC as it has the horsepower to run it well, but I just seem to keep going back to Gnome 3.4.
For me, the only real challenge with Gnome 3 I had was getting used to not minimizing windows, and it really didn't take me that long to get over it.
I don't dislike KDE, nor XFCE or LXDE for that matter, and I might end up with KDE 4 on my desktop. It just hasn't happened yet, and I'm not sure it will. -- Verizon FiOS subscriber since 2005 | Mac owner since 1990 | Fedora user since 2006 | CentOS user since 2007 | "Anyone who is unwilling to learn is entitled to absolutely nothing." - graysonf | EDIT: I seldom post without an edit. |

| I use KDE4 and don't really have any problems nor desire to look at something else. Yes, I agree, the early KDE4 versions were shit, but I can't complain now (not even sure on what version I am ... whatever comes with openSUSE 12.1).
I really love KDE, digikam, kdenlive, dolphin
...just checked, the version is 4.7.2 |
