[HN7000S] Hn7000s 117w outage?? 3-29-12

Had service until 2ish pm central time. Called tech they said it was on their end, flooding and storms have shut their system down, rumor is it will be up by this weekend is anyone else been told this. Signal strength 15 only lights on modem is power and cat5 connection. Question what bird is the hn9000 service on? Is it better to upgrade to the 9k or wait on the hn1000 coming out in about a month?

"Stacy" from Hughes service department informed me that they had a new modem that would be out in the next month or so. HT1000 sry for the typo.

Anyone else lost service since 3-29 ??

Well I think Stacy bumped her head, but than again I could be wrong. I believe the next modem that will be released will be for the new Gen4 and that would be late fall.

I'm on satmex 5 (117W) and I've had the same exact problem. I got fed up and canceled my service. I was tired of the lies. Flooding and storms is bull crap. Here's what the real problem is:

Until the replacement satellite is in orbit, expect more problems.

So? Satmex 5 is still failing and hasn't been replaced yet.

Re: [HN7000S] Hn7000s 117w outage?? 5-29-12

Well is the end of the week. Called teir 4 Tech yesterday at 2pm to see if they were up and running on their end. Was told their service had been up for a few hours, and when I got home just call back and do a reregistration , 10-15 mins tops. When I arrive home, I still only have 2 lights , and spend the next 15 mins trying to convence teir 1 to transfer my call!!! Ahhh I finally get transferred . Yay!!!
Well we go thru the re registration , no luck , manually selected 117w three times with different settings. BEst signal I get 15, so I reverse my cables on dish and modem to see if I have a bad cable on the receive side no luck. After testing my cables I was told call Hughesnet back a set up fora Teck to come check my system. What are the odds my hardware goes down after they have a problem on their end lol.
The story's not over yet, I call the Tech 4 direct line with the pin # I was given, Does not work! Welcome to teir 1 tech support how can I help you ..../face palm , transferred back to teir 4 he runs me thru the re registration again , he tell me well your transponder looks good on my end I tested it. /Really. But service call finally setup, so I should hear from them on Monday to set up a time and day to check the system.

Well thanks for listening to me bitch and moan, maybe I'll get back on line one of these days

Regards,

Twade

Here's a newer link, May 31, 2012.

Looks like we still have a while to wait, however the chemical station keeping shouldn't affect the usability, just shorten the life. Except I suppose it's possible that to conserve fuel they let it wander a bit farther from the center of the box.
