1 edit | [FireFox] Lost Google as my Firefox homepage This afternoon, as with the other issue, Firefox 12 started opening to about:blank as the home page, showing Google but unwilling to search. It is my choice by default in IE (which I never use) but I can't go anywhere from that page in Firefox. It's frozen.
I set Firefox to open on this Google search page as Home, but know this isn't the right URL: »www.google.com/webhp. If anyone knows how to restore the usual page, that'd be great.
Wonder what happened to the Firefox in my computer while I was out. All was well this morning.

Have you manually typed in the Google page you want then opened up Fx Options and made that page your start page?
Check for any virus or toolbar addon that was possible added well you were out. If there is no virus or toolbar you did not add then reset your homepage.

Thanks.  Malwarebytes scanned it as clean within the last couple of days. I have this old XP locked down pretty well and haven't clicked on anything stupid. |

I manually entered the one I posted above which isn't the Firefox program's start page. I don't know what to type in Options to get to the page that was both the Firefox's program's start page and Google search. Maybe it doesn't matter and I'm nitpicking? |

kudos:6 | The easy way to get multiple pages to open upon Fx starting is just to open those pages in tabs then go into:
Options- General - Use Current Pages

I have always used about:blank so did not realize the home page for google was now about:home and indeed it does work on my Firefox 12.
Odd that it does not on the OP's system.
