Re: [Cable] Cable activation backlog (Videotron, Quebec) Weird... I just got an e-mail. Install date on the 03/28. Interestingly, there's an error on what they sent me. It says the modem is a Moto 5110N... I got a 6120. On my original order form, there was no Serial or MAC. I have a feeling, this will end up like my buddy this morning.
In January, I had videotron come and install coax drops in my basement and splitter. I already have cable tv with them. The splitter is 2-ft from where the cable modem is to be hooked up. Other than cutting/crimping me a piece of coax-cable, I don't know what the videotron guy will do. |

 | Same here. It says SB5101N on my email too while I got a 6120. I doubt it will be a problem. Let's see! |

| reply to cluster5 Keep the SB6120, its a great Docsis 3.0 Modem, some of us are now getting four bonded channels on both downstream and upstream. Not too sure about your particular area though. But heres hoping! |

I am a happy camper ! Try the Teksavvy Speedtest instead, it'll make you Happier as its more 'accurate' and its what we mostly use to benchmark with. Oops, I'm not so sure about QC with the Teksavvy speedtest though. Generally I think the test server is in Toronto, quite a ways from you. -- You see there is only one constant. One universal. It is the only real truth. Causality. Action, reaction. Cause and effect.

Not too sure about your particular area though. But heres hoping! Videotron uses 8/1 channel bonding (8 downstream, 1 upstream) pretty much everywhere, at least with the DCM-475. If I recall correctly the SB6120 only allows 4 channels bonding.
BTW, TSI Martin, it seems that it is possible to order the DCM-475 with either the Rogers (STAC 02) or Videotron (STAC 55) firmware directly from the manufacturer. |
