Re: New Quebec Cable Rates

I don't see it incorrectly listed.

Modems Purchase Shipping
3Mb and 12Mb speeds
DCM425 (DOCSIS 2.0) $75 $10
24Mb speed
DCM475 (DOCSIS 3.0) $99 $10

It simply says you can use the DCM475 on a Docsis 2 service.

List of Approved Modems

DOCSIS 2.0 DOCSIS 3.0
Motorola SB5101N Motorola SB6120 - 1.0.6.1
Motorola SB6120 - 1.0.6.1 Motorola SB6121 - 1.0.6.1
Motorola SB6121 - 1.0.6.1 SMC D3GN-RES - 1.4.0.40-RES
Joohong SL-2810 - 10.2.7 Thomson DCM 475 - STAC.02.16
SMC D3GN-RES - 1.4.0.40-RES
Thomson/RCA DCM425
Thomson DCM 475 - STAC.02.16

@TSI Martin, on the Ontario cable page this is indeed what is says.

On QC cable page this is what appears.

Martin, it should be in the rightmost column. It's not Doc 2.0

Plus, are you really still selling the SB6120?

Also Videotron DCM-475 need to run on STAC 55.01 or 55.04 firmware, so you can't use the same one as on Rogers.

We know that, what it says... If you want to use a DCM475 modem on a DOCSIS 2.0 signal (say 15M) then you can.

Till we run out.

You are right... I'm looking into that.

OK, I understand your logic now. It should still be added to the rightmost column AS WELL. :P Currently it's only in the leftmost one.

Nothing, as far as I know. I was under the impression that they run out of 6120s a while back and started selling the 475s exclusively. I thought it simply indicated that the website info was not updated.

nothing is wrong with them, but for the longest time they weren't allowing other modems. Now they've allowed the DCM but were waiting on the 6120 to be gone before we start selling these DCM475s. It's also the reason we haven't put them in the Docsis 3 column yet. There also the firmware that I'm trying to find out why the version they are requesting is completely different.

Awesome, thanks for clarifications. I would love to know what is the technical difference between the STAC.02 and STAC.55, just from a "geek" or shall we say, tech...savvy point of view.
