| How are they false advertising? each company admits there are places they don't cover and give you maps as well |

You ever read your subscriber agreement? All of them clearly state that cellular phone service is radio based and that technical issues beyond the carrier's control could render the service useless. No warranty expressed or implied, yadda yadda yadda.
To be blunt. If it don't work, you're SOL.....
