Re: Safe Room - Costs/Benefits? Kirk that's what usually happens. I used to take many business trips to Marshalltown Iowa Fisher Controls Plant in the middle of the corn fields and tornado's.
The locals say during the day they have plenty of time as they can see them coming miles away but after dark it's another matter. Most of them have storm cellars but if they are sleeping it's iffy.
The last one here people didn't have a chance. It was over before they knew what hit them. 2 dead. |

I used to live in Marshalltown, my wife worked in the office of Fishers.
A few years back we had 21 tornadoes within 10 miles of my house over a span of 24 hours. I just hide out in the basement and hope that "the big one" never hits. |
