McBane join:2008-08-22 Plano, TX | Post your speedtest results Hey everyone,
I've decided to start a thread to dig up some speed results.
Please post your speed that you pay for on fios, then run your local speedtest and paste the results. (www.speedtest.net)
I have 35/35, here are my typical results:

I am on 35/35 and BPON.

35/35. Not sure why the first routed me to Canada but the second in Syracuse is OK for my speeds. |

 | Are you sure you are on the correct speedtest site? I've been using speedtest.net for a while and I as well as others have never encountered such a thing. |

Click on "Begin Test" in green. Top of screen over map -- "I'm an Analog guy in a Digital World!" |

McBane join:2008-08-22 Plano, TX | reply to McBane I assume most everyone is on BPON? Has ANYONE on BPON ever achieved more than 30Mbps up (Considering their plan supports it)?
The highest I've ever seen is about 32Mbps |

| Speedtest.net applet does not work as well for uploads. Latency has to be extremely low to get good uploads results. I rarely got speedtest.net to measure over 32-33 megabits but I saw 38 mbps up on MRTG.
Anyway here is my speedtest (I pay for 150/35):
-- 150/75 mbit Verizon FiOS connection FTW! |

| Ok I found the correct icon to click on. My results are: 38.91 Mb/s down, 31.32 Mb/s up, Secaucus, NJ. I subscribe to 35/35 and I am served by BPON

35/35 on BPON |

 | reply to McBane On 25/25 in tampa region. BTW, most speedtest.net servers have congestion on their downlinks, they need to do some upgrades to handle high upload testing well. |

Re: Post your speedtest results
I've only had FIOS for about 6 months and I love it. |
|
 | reply to McBane first thing i noticed when running tests down here in FL, none of the "recommended servers" could handle the upload speeds of Fios.
even tho the download test is a full 40+ and the speedwave never fluctuates, the upload stumbles to about 15 and tops out
but the 2 Comcast servers in Georgia can handle both, the download jumps to 40+ then fluctuates a bit but always peaks back out at 40+ and the upload is a steady climb to 30

*flash 11 beta causes some glitches in the test graphics*
then again fios has its own speedtest which has the same results as the comcast servers
