I don't know what the bb- is, or the xa, but rcmtnc is Rocky Mount, NC.

It seems to be a loose naming convention for backbone routers across networks.

That one appears to be in Washington D.C. since it's only a few hops from the Ashburn XO router, with no discernible increase in latency. |
