 | Mediacom in Columbus, GA I am writing concerning experiencing Mediacom cable services in Columbus, GA. My wife works from home and relies upon the internet connection in order to work each and every day. It seems strange that there are some days that around peak time (2 to 5 pm) that things begin to bog down and such. I am not sure if it is because it is prime time or what. I have suggested to her that it is probably of all the people that are on the tap. I would love to call Mediacom and send a tech out there but afraid that I will get a contractor instead of an actual Mediacom technician. We have already had a sour taste in our mouths with the initial connection (technican was a contractor and was complaining about being there). Luckily though the company she works for was taking care of any install fees and such. And also another question: When a new cable install is installed, aren't they supposed to install a house box for the lines to stay covered up? (I apologize if I did not ask this right hehe). My big thing does anyone have slow speed problems with Mediacom in the Columbus, GA area? |

I'd be happy to take a look at this for you. You're also welcome to also post over in the Mediacom forum (»Mediacom). Sometimes I don't always catch Mediacom posts in this forum since it's not just Mediacom related.
Either way, feel free to PM me your acct #, phone #, or MAC address from your modem and I'll see if I can track down the root issue.
Sorry for the trouble you're experiencing now and at your original install; I hope to be able to create a more favorable view for you of Mediacom.
Thanks! -- MediacomChad Mediacom Social Media Relations Team »mediacomcable.com/CustomerSupport/ |

Many of the cablecos have very good people here but when they say get a tech out its always one of those what i call "joe bob splitter techs" the trick is how do you get someone out FROM THE CABLE COMPANY, not a subcontracted idiot that wants to blame everything on splitters. -- The shortest distance between 2 points adds 1.5 stars to T. want $25? solve »coord.info/GC20A37 for me |

1 edit | Contractors create trouble calls and in house techs fix them (most of the time).
BTW the box on the side of the house is called an SDU. Yes they should be installed but a lot of techs don't do that. If the fittings are properly done and greased it doesn't matter. -- I speak for myself, not my employer. |
