Re: Borderlands, time to beat Crawmerax. Okay, I asked a bit more and even posted that video up for them. They claim that video is showing a mod on that gun somehow (pc version perhaps?).
The time they claimed changed from 11 seconds to 2 minutes...but still...not too shabby even at that long. |

When you get up to the top of the elevator shaft...you need to run as fast as your can to the far left edge of the ledge of the cliff. There is a section that is right next to the rock wall on the left where there is a ledge slightly lower than the ground. You need to get 1 player up there and have him/her crouch the entire time. Crawmerax will NOT see you as long as you stay crouched. You use the 2nd player to help direct him if he gets out of sight (very limited viewing range from that spot).
I will say that shock weapons work the best against him by a long way. We took him out in about 5 minutes since I had to ride up a couple of times. Pretty good loot value drops from him (I have mostly the pearl weapons...so I just sold what I lost dying). |

The weapon in the second video was a stock combat shotgun. It is a one shot kill for everything except crawermax. For him it is one shot per area.
There are also stock assault rifles, and repeater pistols. Some are visible, like in the movie, and some are invisible. They are created using hex-editing of the binary code.again.
edit to add:
I beat him w/ a 4 man party, all legit weapons and shields, in 10 minutes I think it was. All modded is measured in seconds.
It's also a great level for power-leveling someone. We took a level 1 to 61 in 45 minutes by running and re-running that level.
Just be careful after the third time in a row you kill him as it gets really laggy with all the guns laying around. So don't drop anything as you may never see it again. |

North Aurora, IL | We usually use that arena area in the Knoxx content to powerlevel someone. I don't know about to level 61, but we have had characters go from 1 to about 40 in that same time. I'l have to try that next with Crawermax for my other characters (I think I want to run the 61-68 levels "pure" in the new DLC). |

| Speaking of the DLC, I read the other day, that they are releasing a patch that does away with alot of the modded stuff, and gives anyone playing the ability to level to 69 for free. This should come out around the time of the GOTY edition on Oct. 12.
