Re: Programmable t-stat reset the way it looks to me the wire stays on the termial strip on the wall when you pop the stat loose, correct? if so then simply pop the stat off it's mount, remove the batteries, and let it sit there for a couple minutes. then plug it back up and reinstall the batteries. -- Lack of Preparation on YOUR Part does NOT Constitute an Emergency on Mine! |

 HallPremium,MVM join:2000-04-28 Dayton, OH kudos:2 | reply to davidg Yeah, I had the terminal parts backwards. On the mtg plate (base) is the terminal *block*. The t-stat itself has the prongs.
I had it off the wall and batteries removed for up to 10 minutes(before I started first post). Put the batteries back in and it still remembers the "program", i.e. times, temps, etc I've programmed.
The t-stat thinks it's 80'F in the house a lot of the time (and it's not that temp). That's why I want to reset it. |

Are you sure the thermostat is not reading the correct temperature where it's located? When you had the thermostat off the wall, did you check the wall where the wires come through to make sure the hole isn't too large and affecting the thermostat? |
