I have AT&T

And I don't hate them (which makes me a minority on this website).

I am one of the fortunate few that is within 1000ft of a VRAD, so I get the 24 tier. I also have wireless, but I'm in Atlanta, which has pretty solid coverage and speed.

Despite all the criticism on this forum, they must being doing something right.. why do I say this? Well, one.. I am happy, and I can't be alone. Two, look at their numbers... Q4 last year was the first time they beat out Verizon in most wireless categories (ARPU, Net Adds, etc..).

I can only assume they have the iPhone to thank for that, but that was a good strategic move on their part (VZW could've had it first and said "no".. wtf?). They also entered into connected devices such as eReaders (that really only need the EDGE network) long before Verizon.

Guess my point is, AT&T despite their network woes, seems to have made some pretty good strategic decisions that Verizon missed out on. Now Verizon is playing catch up.

I think it will all be interesting to watch once both have their LTE networks up... let the network battles begin!

I have just checked and my parents can get DSL from At&T. It only took years for it to happen. Too bad it was 4 years since my parents dumped At&T for Comcast and 7 years too late for Broadband. When AT&T who at the time was SBC here in CT they did not offer unlimited LD and Comcast did, so Comcast got 75% of the home phone users in my home town. Strange thing is this town is just under 18,000 people and had only slight DSL availability. They had put in RT 10 years ago, but forgot to add the dsl line cards.

That is unfortunate. I live in the SE region of the company (formerly BellSouth) and I tend to find that a lot of poor experiences with AT&T originate out of the SBC regions prior to the merger (not to say that BellSouth was perfect).

I also live within Atlanta city limits, so access to broadband is easy for me. (though I will never use a comcast service again...)

Agreed. And instead of the cable companies racking up boatloads of debt, AT&T is laughing all the way to the bank. They've committed themselves to not wasting money on over the top FTTH upgrades, and will reap the benefits of not being the first mover should they decide otherwise down the road.

Wait, have you used AT&T? Because you're typing this on a Comcast connection.

As you said 'I am one of the fortunate few that is within 1000ft of a VRAD' how many of you are out there? 30%, 40%? the rest are just 25 and 19 Mbps gateway profiles and the immense majority just get ADSL.

That say a lot about the service right?
