Re: As an AT&T customer.. Try a Motorola Droid or HTC Eris on Verizon and you might change your mind about the iPhone. I did.
I'm surprised no one ever mentions how crappy voice quality is on GSM vs. CDMA. I think GSM is where the term "it sounds like you're on a cell phone" came from.... |

GSM on EFR or AMR-full rate is close to land line quality, and IMO, better than that of CDMA. 3G UMTS vs. CDMA ... not much of difference. I've found CDMA EVRC codec to have a more digitized/robotic sound , and to some extent, very aggressive DTX cutting out sound at the end of or start of speech. -- Canada = Hollywood North |

 | reply to kenn10 Hold on i need to hang up to look up the information, i'll call you right back because evdo 3G has serious limitations and a very low top speed that isn't planned on being upped. No thanks.
When i talk to someone on my iPhone, if i'm holding it to my ear it sounds like a regular landline, if i put on the included headset, it sounds like i'm standing 6 inches from the person hearing every tone of every letter they pronounce while talking to me as if i'm in a one on one conversation with a person inside my head.
Have that, will keep.
