Name Just One Disease/Illness You Wish Cured-Part2

I can't figure out a way to get replies to the original post, but here is Paul's text. Let's make this Part 2!!

Name Just One Disease/Illness You Wish Cured
Only a few have posted in this forum on what they want cured... let us now focus on everyone in a single thread.

So, what is it you wish to find a cure for? Or rather, what is it you wished could be cured?

This is a serious topic, so let's stay away from jovial posts like a headache.

I have to admit, this is a very hard one to answer. I would love to see everything cured. But to pick just one...

Our children, our future. Without every one of our children, we lose just that many more lives, and the chances they offer to bring innovative dreams and technologies. But the saddest thing of all, these children never know "normality".

Obviously the first answer that comes out is either "all of them" or whatever you personally are afflicted with. I personally took care of my father at home when he was bedridden and dying of lung cancer. He had a good mind and was able to deal with the issues at hand. Lots of morphine made it tolerable for him. That was ten years ago. Five years ago my mother, suffering with Parkinson's, got bad enough to require full time care. I couldn't stand the option of a nursing home, nor could I afford it, so I threw away my business to stay home to take care of her, my sisters wanted nothing to do with it. She was bedridden and incontinent for the last three years. She passed away this past summer. She was an artist and had a good mind. She was happy right up to the end. I, myself, have Charcott-Marie-Tooth disease, a Muscular Dystrophy. I wear leg braces on both legs, so I can walk, and my hands are so weak that I can't pull a match out of a matchbook. But, as with any degenerative disease, you just deal with it the best that you can. Which brings me to my choice for disease to cure first. Mental Illness, for no matter what ails you, if you have a good mind, you'll be able to deal with any obstacle that's put in front of you. If you don't, you'll be suffering no matter what comes your way. Mental Illness and Depression should come first, to make all the others more tolerable until they all can be beaten.

Cancer.... it is such a random killer, striking people of all ages, so unexpectedly. One of my best friends had it, my grandmother had it, and a couple of weeks ago I found out someone I work for was diagnosed. It is also one of the few diseases that is getting more, rather than less prevalent, in our society. (AIDS would be #2 choice.)

All I wanted for Christmas was AT&T Business Cable... But they called and told me it would cost $18,000 to install cable to my office! And they didn't even laugh when they said it.

Tough question to answer, I lost my Grandfather to Lung Cancer. My 4 Year old nephew has Leukemia it is in remision at this time. Spina Bifida/Hydrocephalus I have seen the effects. Mental Health in all forms, most of all Depression, I never really knew my Mother becouse of it and I go through some VERY bad times becouse of it.
So I would probably say Cancer. As was said before It strikes anyone at any time. Young or old and just destroys the ones we love. I watched My Grandpa go from a BIG man( we have pic's of him with John Wayne, John was small.) to a rail thin shell who could not stand, sit or even take a sip from a straw until he died. And he still asked for a Cigarette the day he died.
Well, thanks for letting me get that out.
Please help. "FOLD"

Like everyone else here I think this is a really tough question if you only get one answer. I have also lost relatives and a few friends to cancer, so in short that would be what I am folding for. My true passion for the last 10 years has been Special Olympics though. I retired from 7 years on the state board last month, and now I get to have fun again and referee floor hockey.

I agree with everything that everyone has said. In my own family, we have depression and diabetes. Since I live daily with the effects of depression (FINALLY diagnosed!), I would probably have to go with it as something I could cure. Like Toophless says, you can deal with anything else that life throws at you, IF you have your mind intact.

I have lost family members to three types of Cancer, MS, AIDS, TB and Diabetes. I have family members suffering from Alzheimer and LUPUS but the one I want a cure for the most is IgA Nephropathy....

I can't say just one. It is much to difficult a choice. Many members of my family are afflicted with Diabetes. It is almost inevitable that I will get it in my later years. I along with my mother have Osteo Arthritis AKA Degenerative Bone(joint) Disease. I am a very strong person both physically and mentally and I believe I can beat the both of them. I would have to say it is a toss up between the Ebola Virus and the Flesh Eating Disease.

Not fair ... I want them all wiped out. But if I have to choose I guess it would be CANCER.

Stupidity.

If that isn't a viable answer, than my good answer will be cancer.
