I know it isn't standard, but I was wondering if mastic is paintable? (this is the hand moldable stuff)
Is mastic naturally UV resistant or does it need the electrical tape over it to make it so. |

| I don't think colored e-tape is UV resistant. I did some colored marking back in 2006 and the colors have completely faded.
Again, I can you tell from experience the vapor sealant will start to weather after a few years. I've seen some stuff that was around maybe 15 years old and it was bad. |

AMD Phreak Premium join:2003-12-14 | reply to VariableARK I just remembered RFS makes a silicone color coded tape for use. Supposedly it is UV resistant. |

| reply to VariableARK It's a good idea to put a couple of wraps around mastic. Otherwise, when it gets hot the "ooage" can creep and get all over anything that touches it (e.g. you).
3M Super 33+ is UV resistant. -- Looks like Reverend Wright got his wish - God Damn America. |

I was recently out and came across a site that was painted. The painters painted everything, including the cable, tape, etc. |
