| reply to SolarPup "Inexperienced Truck Driver"? They have the lids color/shape coded so this kind of crap is not suppose to happen, even if you don't read/speak English.
Several years ago a truck driver put gasoline into the Kerosene tank at a nearby station. At least one kerosene heater blew up when the person put gasoline into it (rightfully thinking they filled the unit with kerosene). |

| reply to SolarPup In 2008 a local fuel supplier put unleaded in to 3 of my customers trucks. (Due to someone putting the wrong fuel in a delivery truck) One was a brand new Cummins ISB with after treatment. (DPF).....Per Cummins the engine and DPF had to be torn down and all fuel system components replaced.
It made my boat payments for the next few months. |

| reply to SolarPup mike gotta question for ya. i have been out of it for a minute. i know that on the old navistar 7.3s the injection pump would usually fail before catastrophic engine damage was done.
with the common rail systems is that still the case? -- my site |

| On the old mechanical injection pumps diesel was both a coolant and a lubricant. So gas usually cause them to fail quickly. Common rail systems not so much so but modern ECMs will see the problem and first set the CEL and de-rate the engine, or shut it down depending on the programing. |
