Re: [Tomato] Suggestions for setting up Wake on Lan

Try setting a static ARP and see if it works for you.

.

The way I think this works is:

1. Router receives wake up packet on WAN port.

2. Router forwards the packet to the IP address set as static ARP.

3. Packet is flooded on the LAN, since ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff is a
broadcast MAC address.

I did exactly just that previously with no success.

Does the fact that I'm on a wireless bridge change any of said settings?

More importantly - is my assumption right - that all of these changes happen at the access point, and that the bridge's settings are untouched?

As of now, I've done everything suggested in the link provided. I've setup the script, configured targeted PC to have a static IP (that's initiated in the script), and have also opened ports for UDP access. This was all done on the Access Point (I haven't changed any settings on the bridge).

Once asleep, the PC's MAC address and IP remains in the WOL table with "-" as its status.

I can successfully wake it up from this screen - however when I try to do it through the internet, specifically through Depicus I'm having no success whatsoever.

I've created a dyndns host as to keep my IP address updated (and I've verified it as well).

I have yet to setup WoL on Tomato, but you may want to check out this thread for clues to get your setup working: »WoL WRT54G over the Internet

That thread discusses WoL setup on DD-WRT, but I can't imagine it is all that different on Tomato.
