i am trying to use utorrent and it says for best speeds to
have your port forwarding open.when i test it in utorrnet it says mine is not working properly. i have a 9000 modem is there anywhere to open port forwarding. |

go into ur router's settings and go to port forwarding and open the port ur client is using.
it has nothing to do with HughesNet or ur modem, trust me i use uTorrent and i have the HN9000 modem.
I do although recommend using it during the FaP Free Zone (2am - 7am) to set up the timed torrents go to ur scheduler in utorrent's preferences ^_^ |

will the scheduler start downloads automatically or will it just stop them .i've tried setting it but the downloads don't start. |

Did you get a real-time download to work OK?
...and the scheduler works fine. Read the utorrent tutorials.
