Something Wierd

Was setting up my firewall(smoothwall). Had everything Configured but forgot a couple of rules, So I type in what I though was the Smoothie address But the last 2 numbers were reversed.
suddenly I'm presented with the contents of a directory..
66gigs of porn...........
I only have 2 computers and i know both of those dont have anything like that on them ,my brother said it was my DVR provided by my cable company,,I said no way and tried Putty and some other app to get to that address and low and behold..my cable provider...
Ok so 2 or 3 days go by and I want to see whats in the directory
and alot of the stuff has changed...no longer just PPV Porn but other PPV movies...

So..someone wanna tell whats going on?
I'm at a loss..Is someone at my isp using my connection and Dvr to grab up movies?

my DVR is ofcoarse connected to the cable ,but my computer network is secured behind smoothwall then to cable....
anyway
the provider...I'll tell if asked...but i need to know how to proceed and is this impacting my bandwidth?

Hans

Your description is a bit vague. You misconfigured the internal side of the firewall and then you connected to something and see porn. What are you connecting to and from where? Is the IP address an internal IP you were connecting to from another machine on your lan? Can you ping/tracert to the IP address that was misconfigured? Is it a 192.x or 10.x IP address or a public IP?

How are you browsing the directory that you see 66GB of content?

I'm just trying to figure out if you're seeing something on your LAN or if you're connecting to a machine elsewhere on the Internet.

So with it originally misconfigured, if you access a device at 192.168.1.2 it went outside of your network and routed on the internet and into someone elses machine? That seems unlikely as 192.168.1.2 shouldn't route.

Is it possible that you're somehow connected wirelessly to someone's 192.168.1.x network and were accessing it that way?
