| When down, could they allow roaming
My AT&T cell phone service has been down for two days because local cell phone tower is damaged. Being in a major city, could AT&T allow users to roam onto other networks, e.g., Verizon, until the tower is fixed? I am curious because if I did have my copper line, I would have no phone service.

Your at&t handset would need to be able to find another GSM provider to be able to roam. |

| reply to ServiceDown AT&T (Cingular) Killed the roaming ability of my old GSM/Gait phones years ago. Seems that they had a whole bunch of "nationwide no roaming" accounts like mine, and got tired of eating the costs. It is possible in certain areas, if your phone is "provisioned" to do so. |
