Never use just one because they all suck!
Best way to see what your connection can do is to get a meter:

... and then download *a few* (4-5) large files from a known fast server and see where the speed leveles off to after PowerBoost runs out.

... has a pretty fast pipe.
Download more than one, I usually get 4-5 going at the same time, and see how fast the meter says the transfers are going.
