| How many of you could remeber the first mmo you played?
In my memory Fairyland online was my first fun mmo game... It was VERY VERY popular 8 years ago and it still is. It was the most epic mmorpg I played in my childhood. And its still my favorite now after many more years of mmorpg playing.

I do remember UO though. I started playing it about 2 months after it was released.

I am not going to count any of the text MUDs I used to play back in 1993-1996. I do remember playing UO for about 6 months. That was my first real MMO that really impacted me.

Ultima Online was the first one I tried but WoW was the only one I've played for any decent amount of time but even that got old after 3 years. I've got my hopes up for Jumpgate and, of course, Blizzards "as yet unnamed MMO project." |

My very first MMO was either Vagabond's Quest: www.netdragons.com or Guild Wars. Depends upon if you would call VQ an MMO or not. |

Everquest, on the Rodcet Nife server. I still remember the awe I felt when I first logged in. I have never played an MMO since then that has given me that feeling the first time I play. Everything was a "first time". Of course, almost 4 years later I left the game disgusted...but that's another story.

For me I only tried out WoW once but I couldn't understand why I should pay a monthly amount for a game and quit after a month. |

Lineage II.
Before that game I hated the idea of MMO games that you pay monthly for. They had a free open beta and it was just like a free sample of crack. |

It was in the early days of Everquest, and running around trying everything. The first zone seemed vast and endless and everything was just incredible. I remember talking to someone who told me that there were many more zones that were even bigger. I was totally stunned lol.
It hooked me for 7 years.

Well if you don't count text Muds then mine is either M59 or The Realm. I can't remember which was first... I think Realm maybe??
There was also Legends of Kesmai back in 96 or 97. I really played the heck out of this.
Twilight Lands through ICE Online was around then too.
