Main Account E-Mail Problem

I am unable to access my main e-mail account (either through Thunderbird or the ATT website). No problems with sub-accounts. This is new since last evening. Anyone having similar difficulties?

I have a friend who had the email go out maybe a week ago, and that was a main account. The DSL did not go down. Calling up somebody, he was told that it was taken down for lack of bill payment. He was able to give them sufficient proof that the bill had indeed been paid, and they started the email account up again.

Not the problem. Bill paid, landline & DSL working perfectly.

When you access the email via website - does it give you error message/ error#?

Web site indicates "Invalid ID or password."
Thunderbird indicates "Invalid user/password"
Again, only with main account.

What website do you access email at? att.yahoo.com or my.att.net?

I would suggest calling up ATT and having them rest your main id account It is plausable someone hacked the account.

When they reset the password it will do a global reset.

Do not forget to go change the password after the reset.

It seems to me that if someone hacked my account and changed the password I would be unable to log on to my DSL as well.

Anyway...suddenly, miraculously, everything is back to normal and I'm able to log on to my main account this morning.
