Re: [NFL] NFL Week 8 Games, 2008

In 5 games this season the Lions have fallen behind 21-0, 21-3, 21-3, 31-7 (?), 21-3.
Fortunately for the Lions the 'skins don't score early, nor do they score a lot of points.

They were going downfield, inside the Chiefs 20 with the lead, and Favre throws another Interception that goes back for a TD. Now the Jets are behind, 24-21. WTF!!

OK, the Jets just scored and need to stop the Chiefs from scoring a TD with 45 seconds to play at about mid-field. I think they can do it.

A big win in BIG D. The D was there today. We need Romo back badly. This team can't do anything on Offense without him.

If Felix was back the Romo loss wouldn't be as bad..

Re: [NFL] NFL Week 8 Games, 2008

we got a big break to help us win... a muff punt called which wasn't really muffed and the falcs had no TOs so they couldn't challenge.. but regardless other teams gets breaks against us... why can't we get those breaks?

westbrook HUGE game 200+ yards and 2 TDs... McNabb played pretty bad in the 1st half and then learned he could RUN the ball... defense played great throughout most the game... big win got to keep rolling!

Re: [NFL] NFL Week 8 Games, 2008

That nice little Westy TD at the end helped me out immensely for my FF team.

And then Mewelde Moore breaks one for an early TD against the G-men.

Life is good.

At least for now

that is what is bothering me about this team. romo being gone should not be this big of a factor. the def should have stepped up like they did today. when a big offensive player gets hurt the def has to come together to stop the other team and they did that today.

Man the Giants are kicking the Steelers up and down the field on both sides of the ball, and they only lead by 2. This could end up being one of those games...

Westbrook is a beast... 200+ yards on broken ribs and a hurt ankle... yet again he keeps proving me right that he is indeed the best player in the NFL

Re: [NFL] NFL Week 8 Games, 2008

Wow, Bone-head play by Manning trying to call back-to-back Timeouts, get the Delay penalty, the on 4th and 6, Manning completes to Toomer to get inside the 5.
And they can't punch it in
These guys just can't get into the Endzone. Giants still down by 2.

Steelers play good defense inside the 10.

I still can't believe how bad officiating has been this year, btw.

Wow, the Steelers suck. Way to just give the game to the Giants. Thanks for not helping anyone in the NFC East.

I don't get that last pass by Ben. 4th and 4 and you throw 2 yards past the line with Defenders closing? Even if Ward catches the ball, he gets stopped short. Huh?

We blew it on purpose, just to piss you off.

You tell James Harrison he sucks at long snaps.

Good game, G-men.

Steelers self-imploded with penalties and injuries. The injuries hurt the worst.

Now we get to see what Ben is made of, 91 yards with 1 time out and under 2 mnutes. It should be fun to watch.

Re: [NFL] NFL Week 8 Games, 2008

I think that the story of the game was the Steelers' 13 play drive in the 3rd quarter that had 3 first downs, but due to stupid penalties was a net 17 yard drive. That includes a TD called back for holding. That really hurt.

Re: [NFL] NFL Week 8 Games, 2008

That helped, a lot, but the big play was that great Snap to the Punter.
To be honest, if the Offense keeps playing the way they played this game, and the way the NFC East goes, maybe, maybe not.
But the Steelers ain't a shoe-in either

Re: [NFL] NFL Week 8 Games, 2008

I agree. Injuries are part of the game, but man, we have had more than our fair share this year.

OTOH, I am glad to see that our run-D was able to keep the number one run-O in check.

Don't be too critical of your offense; you were facing a pretty darned good defense today. Don't loose sight of that.

Re: [NFL] NFL Week 8 Games, 2008

Yeah, you guys are dropping players left and right.
I think it's the dropped passes that look so bad considering the Giants have a few capable receivers to choose from.
That and Manning trying to call back-to-back Timeouts. That made me chuckle.

Why is Ben missing so bad. He looks like he was watching tape on how Brad Johnson was throwing today.

I was watching the Seahawks and 49er's game game Vernon Davis the te for the 49er's after the play he pulled on the face mask of a Seahawk defender. The ref saw it and threw a flag unsportmans ship for 15 yards.
Mike Singatary sent him to the locker room. I guess if you play stupid you not going to play.

Yes he pissed he kept going over to him. Early in the 4th quarter he told to Davis the leave the field. I never have seen a coach tell a player to leave the field

Had to laugh about the Smith-to-Flacco connection in the BAL/OAK game...it was the best play by a Raven "receiver" (and I use that term lightly) in....well for as long as I can remember . Also rushed for a score. Nice game for the kid, albeit vs the Ray-duhs.

NFC East was 4-0 today.

What happened with the Steelers? That game was there for the taking, and their offense just vanished. It looked like they only have 3 plays in their playbook --- run; quick slant; bomb.
