why these paid nntp providers require cc ? And you cannot pay with paypal ? Is this so to better control posters ? Or easier to prosecute them ?

Newsgroups offer much more than what is available on blogs. With the use of a newsgroup search engine such as binsearch and ngindex, in conjunction with a newsreader that handles nzb files, it's possible to locate and download tons of material quickly and efficiently. Try finding freely downloadable mp3s or movies on a blog search engine.
