| reply to atuarre Re: [iPhone] Apps not working??
My backups are still slower than I would like, but I am not having the app problems that I did, and the sync process is completing.
Not sure why the difference, but the phones that I have been messing around with are all synced and seem to work appropriately. -- "Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crispy and good with catsup." |

| reply to mouseferatu said by mouseferatu :Updating to iTunes 8 on the Mac appears to resolve the problem... the phones sync fine with all the apps, at least in my case. Edit: Just finished the iTunes updates on both Vista and XPP boxes. Both work OK- no BSOD, no failure to finish the sync with the apps all there. No, it does not resolve the issue. Hopefully the new software update due out on Friday will resolve it. Again, iTunes 8 does not resolve this issue. I experienced this issue yesterday.
I also hope the new software update speeds up the application installation process. |

| reply to ifarrell The problem with doing this is that you lose any data stored in the apps you are deleting.
My iPHone is completely jacked up, every time I hook it up to my computer it asks if I want to restore it from the last backup. The phone itself works just fine, I just cannot sync it. |

| reply to BBR_InsUW I have had several crashes and holding the off/on and home button for around 6 seconds usually resets it, although occasionally I have gotten stuck looking at the Mac apple for 15 minutes. It's been strongly suggested to download apps only in Itunes and not directly on the phone. The other suggestion is to remove some of the apps you don't need. LastFM, VisualRadio and Mobile Pod seem to be some of the apps that are causing problems(phone crashes while in use). |

1 edit | reply to anonn The AT&T store will be less helpful than calling Apple, IMO.
AT&T only provides the connection, it does not deal with the "guts" of the phone or the OS, for want of a better way of putting it. -- "Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crispy and good with catsup." |

| reply to trubbull Are you syncing the iPhone on a Mac?
I am asking simply because none of the four units here will currently sync using iTunes on a Windows box...
As stated, all will sync on the Mac, two correctly, and two to factory app status.
I spent quite a while messing around with these... -- "Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crispy and good with catsup." |

1 edit | reply to BBR_InsUW Odd deal, this one.
The three 3G phones and the original phone are all associated with the same Mac Pro. They have the same apps, and are up-to-date on the OS.
Two updated all apps OK, two of the 3G's were useless even after soft reset.
Complete restore allowed the native apps to work, but not the third party. -- "Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crispy and good with catsup." |

| reply to DoLeMiTe Happened to me as well. I've read reports online that some people have luck with just restarted their iPhones (as I did), or reinstalling the iPhone OS via iTunes "Restore" button. Though I've also heard that there are some people who can't get any of the apps to work at all. Even after multiple restores. |
