Re: Post 12meg Account Speed Test results here. 7-2-08

I recently ordered 12meg internet in Dunbar thinking I was upgrading from verizon 3meg DSL. All day and night I get different speeds ranging from 1meg to 5megs download. Only at around 4am can I get anything faster, but what is strange is during those morning hours it reports the speed as being 19-21megs download. I even tried downloading some files to see how accurate that was, and it was accurate! But what sucks is during the day the speed is slower than my 3meg DSL! Techs say there is nothing wrong on my end, that its the node, too many customers, but give no resolution. Customer service says they have notified corporate. Not sure what that will accomplish. I was also told that the modems are provisioned for 13meg to make sure you get the 12meg and that they have no idea why I get way more than 12 during the early morning hours. This makes no sense to me, I really hate their internet service.

Welcome DunbarWV. Look about the 12M related Post in here and check to see if you are not alone with your frustrations. At least it does appear that the Tech was attempting an honest answer for those consistent inept speeds, but too bad if they accomplish just a fix of those early AM 19-20's you reported to them.

Hey DunbarWV,

Don't know exactly where u r in Dunbar but I am near Kroger's and Shoneys.

The last time I checked in June before leaving for Verizon's very stable 7.1/768 DSL there were 181 people on the node that I was connected to.

You are lucky to be getting 3Mbps 1 time I got 612kbps down 750kbps up
