Shaw needs to have docsis3 to do that... they only have docsis 1.1 and are working on 3 » en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DOCSISsooo potential they COULD do that bu odds are they wont... and if/when they do it will cost a a lot And how would you know they don't have DOCSIS 3 capable equipment beyond the modems? Seems your spouting pessimistic rhetoric too? |

Seems your spouting pessimistic rhetoric too? I never said they didn't have Docsis 3 equipment! They are most likely testing docsis 3 in a test environment... but i am almost 100% positive they are not running docsis 3 on the live network where it would affect most of us if any of us ATM. They may be upgrading equipment and firmware for the switch but most likely not active yet.
Now this next statement is just an educated guess... but it would make sense for them to roll out docsis 3 in Calgary and area first before going anywhere else, incase of any major issues. Seeing as that is where the NOC and staff that programs all the equipment is located... just like the SDP launch. |
