wow whats all that for?

@comcast.net

I host website for local bands and non-profit places, like the library, and my school. Some of it is for SQL, the library, outsources there SQL server to my place, so all there data for checking books in and out can be somewhere safe, and they don't have to manage it. But mostly websites are what i host. And some of it is just for tinkering around with. I started really getting into website hosting when I turned 15, I host a lot of private game servers for kid in my school

I have one comcast residential connection, one DSL connection from NHVT.net, and a fiber optic connection to NHVT, which is about 400 yards from my house. I attached pics of the fiber splice case. My dad is really good friends with the owner of NHVT. So he ran some fiber over to my place, and in return, some of his servers are in my house.

Forgot to add something..

I don't pay all that much, the server racks where surplus, routers from ebay and from the tech collage, when they re did there entire network, servers are mostly secondhand some from ebay, others from ebay.

How much do you pay for electricity? i really want to build a server lab but i am scared to death of what my power bill will look like

paulmataruso

@comcast.net
the power bill is around 170.00 USD total for the entire house, but i am not sure how much the servers coast each or together.

Thank you, Yeah, some of those pics on my site, are duplicates. But I am always changing and taking/removing stuff that it is always different. My website is mostly for my high voltage stuff.

I saw some of your TCs you made, nice work there. The new pole pig you picked up looks like it's in some excellent condition also.

Good job all around.

paulmataruso

@comcast.net
The pole pig was in great condition, it good do with a little touch up work, and maybe so de-rusting, but besides that it is as good as new.

Do you have a sump pump and a battery backup pump if you ever get a lot of water?

That would personally be my biggest concern. Otherwise, you have a very cool setup

paulmataruso

@comcast.net
No, I dont have a sump pump at all, I am takeing the already very low risk of water damage. We live on top of a hill, and all the water goes around us. Plus the basement has never flooded for the lifetime of the house, as i know it.
