[Wireless] wrt54g + wrt350n = broken internet

woowah join:2002-03-26 m5v5f6	[Wireless] wrt54g + wrt350n = broken internet I've been asked to improve our wi-fi in a small business environment and poor old uneducated me is trying to simply replace a WRT54G with a WRT350N. I assumed that it would be as easy as unplugging one and plugging in the other. Our setup is: Modem > WRT54g > WRT54g > users We want our setup to be Modem > WRT54g > WRT350N > users What we found when we switched was that people couldn't connect to the net, and if they did email failed and some websites were slower. There was no problem connecting to the WRT350N network though. What's going on, is there some conflict between the routers? -- All about good news!

CylonRed Premium,MVM join:2000-07-06 Bloom County	Could be the routers as set up would be double nat'ed would be my semi-educated guess. I would look online for 'double nat issues' and see if it helps.

You have corresponding compatible versions of DD-WRT for the WRT54g and WRT350N (v1). DD-WRT could be even installed in the WRT350N (assuming it is a v1) and configured as a repeater bridge of the WRT54G. Have you check on that route?

SA Spurs1 join:2008-04-16 Georgetown, TX	reply to woowah Try changing the ip address of the wrt350 from 192.168.1.1 to something outside of the range of the wrt54g which may be from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.149. You will have to check your wrt54g to be sure. Thus you can avoid conflict
