I'm working on a friend's laptop - an older Presario 2100 with only 192MB RAM. She's used the Yahoo browser for years and years and years, and wants to continue using it. (I know - but let's not go there)
She gave me her original SBC Yahoo DSL install CD, and I got the browser installed from there -- but quickly realized how old it was. I tried to update it, but I'm unable to even download the newest version b/c it requires 256MB of RAM. I tried downloading from my PC, but the website just launches the install without having a distinct downloadable install program.
So at the moment she has the SBC Yahoo! Browser, Product version 3.0.02.409, File version 2003.08.19.02, SBC Yahoo! DSL Version 5.00-ACSX.
Is there a way to update to a newer version? A direct link to download it from, perhaps?

The yahoo browser is internet explorer with a yahoo skin. And the at&t yahoo hsi install disk version 7.6 has the same yahoo browser file version 2003.8.19.02 |

The newest browser requires 256MB of RAM to update now. So she is out of luck.
Within the next 12-18 months...it will be pulled for good. Starting in May sometime - new DSL customers won't even be able to get the browser. |
