| reply to Shenandoah1776 I encountered the SAME EXACT issue just this past week while trying to add a wireless N router to my network for better signal. It was alarming because I had set up the non-Verizon DSL service over a month ago with no issues. Apparently the 327W was already 'unlocked' because I was a Verizon customer. I knew there had to be a way to outsmart this thing. I could successfully ping out to yahoo.com so the DNS was good... But there was NO WAY that router was allowing anything to pass through port 80 without being unlocked. I was about to give up hope when I read the choices there on the default screen.... It just wanted a valid Verizon user name and password. My mom still has the verizon, and I set it all up for her. So I entered her user name and password, the router was able to authenticate with the Verizon servers, even though it was on a non Verizon connection. As soon as I got past that, it prompted me to download. I let it get almost through, went back into the config page, changed my PPPoE user name & Password, canceled the download and that was it. I have been up and running ever since. So--to sum it up you need a buddy who still has the verizon service to entrust you with their user name & password just to unlock it. |

Can you ping any website? |

| reply to Shenandoah1776 What does it show for your DNS servers?
On Windows, you can check with: ipconfig /all
Also your modem should have DNS server information. Check "network statistics" on the diagnostics menu. -- AT&T dsl; Westell 327w modem/router; SuSE 10.1; firefox 2.0.0.13 |

| reply to nwrickert Thanks for that info, but I've already done that and can connect to my new provider just fine. The problem I'm having is that once connected, I bring up a browser, and no matter what web address I type in, it gets changed to take me arbitrarily to Verizons Account Access page. Just cant seem to get around it. Could it be something in the device firmware? |

| reply to Shenandoah1776 I am using a verizon version 327w on AT&T dsl. So that works.
In the WAN settings, there should be a link for "Multiple PVC". Go there and edit the settings. You need the VPI and VCI to match your ISP requirements. And you need to get the protocol right (PPPoE or bridge are the most likely to be used by your ISP). -- AT&T dsl; Westell 327w modem/router; SuSE 10.1; firefox 2.0.0.13 |

| Hi All,
I have a 327W that I purchased from Verizon when I was a DSL customer of theirs. I now live in an area with no verizon coverage so I have DSL service through my local Telco. I had hoped to use the 327W with my new carrier. I have it up and functional and it will connect to my new dsl provider, but there is aparrently some code in there that takes me only (whenever I open a browser) to the Verizon Account Setup page. For Example, if I type www.google.com it changes it and takes me to the Verizon page. Does anyone know how to get past this? Help. |
