I have wireless internet. I know my speed is 100 and my packets 1360 the other number 1130. My calls are choppy and cut out real bad. I tried a filter it didnt help. I tested it and it says my internet is a bit fast. Well, 90 on bandwidth is too much and so is 50 so i put it on the lowest 30 and it still has probs. what can i do? my son and i are so stressed. he has a stressful job and lives out in CA. please advise. thanks |

| try disconnecting all PCs and all other devices other than the Vonage adapter, then try some more calls. In other words, plug the Vonage adapter directly into the broadband. If you must use a router, unplug all other devices and disable the wireless if it has that. did the choppy go away? report back. |

| reply to bbutler Depends on where the problem is. If your ISP is poor quality, there is nothing you can do. So we must determine if its your setup or your ISP.
First of all, wireless internet is a bit slower than DSL/Cable internet. That is, it has more latelcy. This can add a slight delay in your conversation, but won't really add choppiness. Choppiness tends to come from dropped or out of order packets. When you turn your vonage speed down to 30, does it get less choppy but sound worse? Or is it still choppy? -- dnoyeB "Then said I, Wisdom [is] better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom [is] despised, and his words are not heard. " Ecclesiastes 9:16
