Re: Remote desktop from a pc to a mac

Reverse question: is it possible to use a mac to connect to a Windows Remote Desktop server on which you have an account but are not allowed to install your server software of choice?

I thought RDC was built into all micro$oft winders products. All you have to do is turn it on, which may or may not be allowed.

I don't think so. All server products have terminal services and I believe starting with XP, the desktops do...Win2k you could install the service.

Re: Remote desktop from a pc to a mac

I just know it's on my desktop PeeCee. I don't know anything about the servers, so I should probably crawl back into my hole now.

On xp right click my computer and choose properties. Select the remote tab and in the bottom half of the screen choose "allow users to connect remotely to this computer". Now you can use the remote desktop connection option from start-programs-accessories-communications to connect to the pc, or use CoRD or the RDP linked earlier to connect from a mac.

OR

You can install a vnc client/server package (ultravnc for example).
