How about a adding this into the block post feature. Where once you ignore his/her posts it also does not allow the person to post on your postings. |

| reply to brianiscool When you Block a member, it affects only you. Your suggestion would affect the ability of others to post. There's a huge difference.

I'd be able to start a thread "Brianiscool sucks balls" and then block you from posting. All of your haters would comment and you'd have no say.
Then you would start a thread "exocet_cm is fat" and I wouldn't be able to comment, subsequently filling up the forums with useless nonsense.
That is how I see it playing out. Just "hey mods" the post if something goes south, that is what they are there for. -- "I have measured out my life with coffee spoons..." - T.S Eliot Check Out the Tech Bench »johndball.blaize.net/index.php/tech-bench/ Ma blog: »www.johndball.com |

| reply to brianiscool That totally defeats the purpose of the forums entirely. If people can't freely post, then what's the point of this site?
If you don't want to hear what a person has to say, then you have the option to ignore them. But so long as they follow the site rules, they have the right (well, privilege, really) to post in whatever forum they want.

| reply to brianiscool I like to just let negative posters blabber incoherently till they make complete fools of themselves. Then when I need a good laugh I reread the thread. It's better when they do it in an open forum so the joy reaches a much larger audience.
But if you don't recognize the fool it just may be you.

You've already ignored them. If they post on your thread, would you even notice what they've said? |
