Note that the OP said he was with VP for three years. Now all plans have an activation fee. The only deal you can get is a 'competitive upgrade' if you are already with a major VoIP and switch to VP's $24.99 plan. You get $50.
But don't let the $29.99 activation fee stop you. The service is well worth it. Consider the $14.99 plan, since the 'local calling area' is your area code and all adjacent area codes (in most cases). This may make the 200 minutes of LD adequate (you can use about 456 minutes of LD before you would pay more than the $24.99 plan), and you would recoup the activation fee in three months. |
