Any New Updates on Comcast Abuse Calls

I don't want to start a long protracted argument thread. But I do want to hear updates on anyone who has been called recently and the amt per month they did...

Yeah, I'm always amazed at how little follow-up there is on these calls. We should at least have some idea about what all of them have in common (in terms of bandwidth use), so we could make some conclusion.

There's nothing wrong with revisiting that topic.

I imagine they go by monthly stats, so there's probably another couple weeks to go before the next round of offenders gets slapped.

So if you do 400GB between dec 15 and jan 15, you're ok? Always off Monthend, never rolling periods or daycaps?

Perhaps the offenders can't post an update because they haven't got an internet service anymore.

I doubt that...we're talking about people that are seriously addicted to the internet. I'm sure if they were booted they would be on the net whether it be dsl, sat, neighbor's unsecured wireless, etc.

They don't come back because at first they are here spewing non-sense and insults to everyone that they "didn't do anything wrong" .. and then they speak to the abuse department and realize that they did do something wrong and are too embarrassed to come back to update us on it.

Threads get locked on this discussion because they are exactly the same. They've been addressed to death. Person comes on complaining their service was cut off, they are gonna cancel their service, sue Comcast for lying to them. They have no idea why they were cut off, except "maybe" it was the 1 bazillionbytes of "legal" stuff they downloaded in a 72 hour period.

I was just called today by Comcast. They said I downloaded 330gb last month and needed to lower it. They were unwilling to provide me with an appropriate level on my monthly bandwidth however despite repeated requests. This is all in an area where FIOS is being wired by Verizon to boot.

This really makes me laugh since they just upgraded my speeds like 2 weeks ago too.

Before anyone accuses me of piracy, that is all legit 100% legal downloads of lossless concerts by bands that allow trading of concerts. It isn't so much the call that pisses me off. It's the complete unwillingness to give me a hard number to stay below that would allow a customer to decided with FIOS or another service might be a better deal.
