| Temperature affects signal-
Far be it from me to jump in here out of the blue, but I couldn't help myself.
I am a recovering cable tech (not alcohol or anything, just terminated- 'nother story though) and felt compelled to assist.
The cooler the temps, the stronger the signal. The warmer the temps, the weaker the signal... this could be the problem-
Many issues can cause your modem to be dropping; a neighbor's TV with bad shielding could cause noise to blow back into the system if connections are poor on the same tap you are fed from. The tech support should be able to utilize a network monitoring utility to see the signal at your modem- you can also do this yourself by typing in 192.168.100.1 with most makes of cable modems, and finding the correct signal info listed there-
good luck! |
