Get a cheap router. The 4100 will not provide any protection.

If you have it configured to provide a private IP to the computer, then the computer will, in effect, be placed on the DMZ. That is, there is no protection.

So use that router to provide the protection you want.

(note - comments are for the SBC/ATT version of the 4100)

thanks for the replies fellas. Sure enough it has the ATT software just like my 5100s I have. I will go ahead and drop a router in there. Thanks again.
