| reply to justin I guess many more people than I originally thought lack common sense then heh. I still think both parties in this case were lacking it, both the radio station for putting up such a dangerous contest, and the woman for not realizing that you can't drink 100000000 gallons of water and still be alright just to try and win a $250 console. -- Life is a game of blackjack. | FINALY....
After all this time hearing all about how much fun you guys are having. I was able to get my hands on a Wii. Picked it up on Sunday at Target they had 73 in stock. (sweet)
Picked up a extra nunchuk at target but no remotes so went to toys'rus picked up the last remote. So I was set to play. (Also picked up zelda at target too)
Good thing I bought the component cables when I was in Taiwan for 10 bucks. So got it home hooked it up and friends dropped by to play.
First game we played was tennis. Wow can't remember when was the last time we were all yelling so loud in my house. I was surprised no neighbor call the cops. There were some minor injuries, One of my buddies back swing clipped my wife's cousin's ear. No serious damage. Then we moved to bowling that was a blast, got worried couple times with wife moving closer and closer to the TV (my new 52" sony XBR2) had to tell her to move back. We all made sure straps were on tight and secure. Then we moved to boxing... wow that was a work out. Now one can come close to beating my wife's cousin he was knocking people out in 15 seconds... no exaggeration. We all took turns getting our butts handed to us.
One of my friends wanted check out the Zelda game so we loaded that up. Graphic wise nothing to be desired considering I have PS3 and the 360, but the game got me hooked right away with few small quests to get things moving. I love the whole environment and love the game play and how the controllers interact.
Over all I can not say enough how awesome this system is. I can easily see how they can take what they have in game interaction and attach it with a better system and graphic. For example the simple tennis game. I can't imagine it will take much to make the characters more detail and still have the same game play. I am no big tennis fan but I know there are few very nice graphic tennis games out there with some very realistic characters. Now imagine you controlling them just like you control it on the Wii now. It really opens lot of potential. Also imagine Fight Night but with the control setup like the boxing game on the Wii.
I think Nintendo really set them selves up nicely on this. I had a blast playing the Wii, For the price I can see why this is so high in demand. I am really looking forward to picking up some other games. I just hope the control set up for them are just as good and precise.
Now I have to go rest up my shoulders and arms man they are killing me. -- "Power without perception is spiritually useless there for of no true value." Ryken -- unless you get caught in lag then it doesn't matter. |

| reply to justin I got mine setup..connecting to the internet was a breeze...updates kinda ran a little slow. The sports games are lots of fun. I finally got my husband to play a video game with me!!!
It's certainly addicting. We each made ourselves a Mii...I don't quite understand the Mii plaza and how the Mii parade works.
I also have Zelda and Madden 07 to try out...haven't gotten to these games yet.
I will say that although I personally didn't have a problem holding onto it, I can certainly see why some people might end up throwing the Wiimote...it's just how involved you get in the game! -- You only get one life. | reply to justin I love my Wii. played through Zelda so far up to the desert temple, and the boss battles are just AMAZING. The funny thing is I usually only lightly shake the remote to swing my sword normally, but when fighting a temple boss, I'm swinging that thing practically all over the room... Playing Wii sports is a lot more fun than I thought it would be too, not to mention my 4 year old picked it up amazingly fast and now kicks my a$$ at bowling! My husband also got Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and he's quite happy with it as well. Overall very pleased. -- UNLESS Someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to change... It's not

| reply to justin We just started playing Smooth Moves and it's very fun. Get a few people over and we played for about 6 hours last weekend. Rayman is also a blast.
Call of Duty 3 has been pretty fun so far. It's just a little annoying how dead center you have to hold the controller. Move it a little bit and you start turning, sometimes it makes getting precise shots difficult but overall not a major problem.
One of the saddest things though is that I find myself playing more old NES, SNES, SEGA, and N64 games more than anything else . We downloaded Mario Kart, Mario 64, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (probably the best Zelda game), Golden Axe, etc etc. It brings back good ol' memories of those systems. -- HABYA HABYA HABYA TEAR DOWN THE HEM STALKS EAT UP THE OLD MAN AND WOMAN AND CARRY OFF THE LITTLE GIRL MAY YOU DIE ALONE |

| I too have been very happy with Smooth Moves. I bought it for my wife, and spent last Saturday finishing the single player mode! Good stiff.
Zelda has been good so far also. Just finished the desert temple, and have had no complaints with the game.
Medal of Honor-Vanguard is yet another good title. I have been running out of bullets more often than not, and would have liked a good description of all the guns but other than that is is a solid title. -- "A religious war is like children fighting over who has the strongest imaginary friend."

| reply to justin We just picked ours up as a splurge for ourselves, Target had like 12 of them this past Saturday and the wife actually made me buy it
Wii Sports is pretty fun, but Wii Play has kinda let me down. We didn't buy anything else yet as I still have FF12 and Prey (360) to finish, but Zelda's on my radar as soon as it become cheaper used at gamestop.

My main attraction for getting Wii Play was just the extra games you get + the remote. So for only like $10 more than the remote itself you get some pretty fun little games.
Zelda is definitely worth purchasing. And if you get a chance try out Rayman and Smooth Moves. They are both a lot of fun to play with friends etc. Have a few beers and go crazy .

| reply to justin 2 days ago the GF and I went to Walmart (which is the epicenter of excitement here....living in a small town). I digress.
I head over to the electronics section and low and behold 5 Wii's are sitting in the display case. I look at the Wii's and then back at the gf,back to the Wii's...and so on.
She sighs, and says...ok.
We decide to go halfies on it and get a extra controller/nun chuck.
We set it up last night and decided to play some Wii boxing... man, that game is sooo much fun. We were laughing and swinging like crazy. Some Wii tennis and a round or 2 of bowling.
Sufficed to say we had alot of fun.
A definitely worthwhile purchase.
ps---
I figured out where the Opera Browser download was and installed it. Much to my gf's dismay I now can browse the net while sitting on the couch.
