It's probably a moot point anyway. We're coming to the end of the "Year of BPL", and it seems like it's the third year that has been declared as "the year". I think you're going to see companies focusing BPL deployments primarily on grid management and not Internet access. However, it's a tough decision since there's several established low-bandwidth PLC based systems that do meter reading and grid management with less risk, hassle, and presumably less cost than BPL. |
