| My last post shows my confusion.
Ok, I'm not sure but unless you DL the drivers you will not be able to use Cool'n'Quiet features. Instead you will be using windows power management »www.microsoft.com/whdc/archive/w···.mspx#E6 Unless your machine is store bought and came with Cool'n'Quiet drivers preloaded? I'm also not sure of differences between XP's power management and AMD's power management. I seem to be running into a lot of misinformation or lack of when I google this subject.
For example; The System Properties reading 800MHz when enabled and Cool'n'Quiet being listed in the BIOS.
I have the drivers loaded and as you can see from my above post pertaining to the AMD Dashboard that my MoBo has all the bells and whistles yet the above examples are not the case for me. -- Prevent Malware |

| Yes and I did. They show up in Add/Remove Programs so I know they are loaded. Knowing that and the fact that AMD Dashboard shows that my system is being managed by some power saving app is the only way I can tell. I don't have Cool'n'Quiet option in my BIOS and my System Properties shows 2.2GHz contrary to what has been published in tech sites. I don't know the difference between XP's & AMD's power management so I'm not sure witch one is operating on my system? -- Prevent Malware |

| Have you tried disabling XP power saving, and using CrystalCPUID to setup your own power saving?
Worked for me when I couldn't get PowerNow/Cool'n'Quiet fully operational (no bios support).
I've got the "minimal" duty cycle set to 1ghz (instead of 2.2ghz) and 1.2v (instead of 1.4v). It basically runs like that most of the time. |

| Or you can try RMClock, which I'm using on my Athlon64 3400. I haven't tried CrystalCPUID, is it any better/worse than RMCLock?
