| One of the best BF2 mods - PoE2
It’s time to let everyone know that POE:2 beta version 1.1.5 is ready for release. The time and effort that has gone into making this patch is for the love of the game and to provide a better gaming experience to our fans. We are in the midst of uploading our patches to a handful of mirrors and will add to the download page more links as they are reported to us.
They just released a small 51 meg patch update for all the people that have played the massive 1.0 version.
For those of you who do not know what PoE2 is, its a great free mod(as all mods are)that will transform your BF2 into a whole new environment, with great sounds, vehicles and maps.

Release Dates:
Server Patches (Linux & Windows): 3:00 pm Eastern ~ Thursday 10/12/06
Client Patch: 1:00 pm Eastern ~ Friday 10/13/06
Another news post on Thursday evening will show more detail and the change log of what’s included in POE:2 version 1.1.5.

RE: the statwhores. For the first release of PoE2, there was no stat support, so it was actually refreshingly whorefree! I had forgotten what TEAMWORK was like until I started playing PoE2. Then I installed the BF2142 demo and was reminded what NO TEAMWORK was like... |

Well, in my honest opinion... the whole stat and point system just really killed team work in BF2. I really enjoyed BF1942 and Desert Conflict. I do like to play BF2, but only on a few select servers where team work is prevalent. |

We just had a 6 person miniLAN on Tuesday with POE 2. Great game and tons of fun...this is what BF2 should've been out of the box.

| I don't really like it myself.
The main complaint I have with it is the sound effects and the unbalanced nature of it. The sounds im guessing are still a work in progress, cause right now they sound metallic in nature, not very "real" sounding.
I played on quite a few servers and each map seems to be lopsided in outcome when playing, one slaughters the other, not many close games like BF2 does. %90 of the games I played ending up being a camp fest at the last spawn point. :/ |

However Rising Conflicts a large super mod, which has been in production since May 2005, just released their 1st beta.

Great work. Having been a fan since 1.0, I was so happy to see POE2 release. Your team has done exceptional work making the experience so much more detailed than BF2 (makes BF2 look so incomplete).
Keep up the work, you guys have really done a great job.

POE 2 rocks and Rising Conflict looks promising as well. I played RC for about 5 minutes last night and I definitely like the speed of the tanks!!

| Allied Intent is another good mod. Nice fast tanks but they are easier to kill. Been playing POE the past few days and I really like it. Nice big maps so you don't get killed as soon as you spawn.

Been playing the mod over the weekend...great weekend to get sick 
LOVE IT! But it does seem to me that Germany has the advantage, maybe its just me.
And, I cannot find where to download that Rising Conflict mod. I only see trailers available for download at their site. |

1. No servers in the browser.
Temp fix was to find an IP on the board here and type it in.
2. Once map loaded it told me my files didnt match the server.
Any help? |
