| Fan Monitoring
Hi,
I upgraded to a new power supply, one which has a fan monitor wire. My motherboard does not have a pwr_fan1 socket, but it does have a open cha_fan1 socket.
My question is, if I plug the PS fan monitor wire into the cha_fan1 socket, will it work and will it damage my motherboard?
Thanks. |

| No... If that sensor is active it will report the speed but it will not be under the PSU in the BIOS. You may use a software such as SpeedFAN »www.almico.com/speedfan.php to check the fan speed (temps.)
The labels on the mobo correspond to the BIOS labels so for instance if you plug the PSU monitoring wire to the CPU fan in the BIOS you will see the PSU under the CPU section. |
