1 edit | Aye. Enhanced, yes, but, sometimes oversaturated photos have real use - this one, for example, does a great job at showing texture and chemical changes in the moon at different areas. That, in itself, has real use in astronomy, it's not just a pretty picture (though, it *is* pretty) |

Lots of professional astronomy shots are enhanced, even from Hubble. False color images, and so one. Quite simply the man has enormous talent, and we are enriched for him sharing it with us.

| Pay attention, I said nice for desktop but useless for actual astronomy work. It is enhanced beyond just color saturation. It is a composite of 5 different photos including back ground, star clusters etc.
So it is as stated useless for astronomy as the conditions DO NOT exist in the real world. |
